Faux Jewelry Toddler Tank

I was looking through cute blogs awhile back and came across this cute, cute and even more cute idea. A faux jewelry toddler shirt or tank! I love these little shirts that you find in the store and they are not super cheap, so I found a blog that had a tutorial on how to do it! I had a little hard time finding the velveteen paint, but finally came across some at Michael's the other day. I chose red, but now I wish that I would have just gotten the plain white. It was only 1.99. I bought the black tank at Old Navy on sale for 2.99.I had the button and the flower and I just sewed that on for alittle extra pizazz!
It isn't the best job. The paint is a little tricky to use the first time.

I can see lots of these in Allison's future!

Here is the link to the tutorial:

Now go out there and make your own!

Enjoy!

A couple of cute things I just made

Here is a purse I just made for my friend Julie, and an apron for Caitlin's birthday...

Mind the stain on the iron board. I need to sew a new one!

We love because he first loved us.

Cute ruffle toddler skirt out of an adult t-shirt

Oh my goodness. When I found this tutorial on this skirt, I couldn't run out to the thrift store fast enough! It is made from two adult medium sized t-shirts. You can use three or even four to make four different colored ruffles if you want to. Don't you just love recycled projects! It was super easy and I plan on modifying this to make a dress, maybe even a shirt! I will post the link to the tutorial after the picture.

Enjoy! If you make one, you need to send me an email and pic of it.

Apron!

Since we don't do any schooling on Fridays, I have decided that that is the day to get the sewing machine out and sew! Today, I sewed Allison an apron. I have been wanting to sew her an apron for a long time now, but I have been looking around for inspiration. Today, I must have had it! I found some really cute fabric that I bought two years ago to sew Alli a dress with. Still in the Joann's bag, I discovered it last week! I was so thrilled that I had the stuff to sew an apron with! I am going to start doing tutorials for people, I just wanted to make sure that this patten that I made works. I added rick rack, a pocket and I made this flower/button embellishment. I am so happy how this turned out! I need one just like it! I am still on the hunt for the perfect nightstand to make her oven with and when I find it, I will make the small curtain for it out of the same fabric. Maybe even a chefs hat and pot holder! Enjoy your Friday!!

Yummy pocket!
On another note, I made really yummy chicken tacos last night. I had chicken breast and just made a marinade from olive oil, mexican seasoning(found at Safeway) and chopped fresh cilantro. Grilled them up, steamed corn tortillas and add some sour cream/salsa sauce, YUMMMMM!!

I will try, try again!

Well, sadly, Allison could not get her little butt into those skirts! :( That is my fault for making them while she was asleep and  I didn't measure her. I just went by another skirt she had, and I guess forgot to  add for seams! When I make new ones, I will post a pic of her in them. Luckily, I have more fabric!

It all began with a quilt

So, since fall is around the corner, I have had a bee in my bonnet to sew or make something! A couple of months ago, my mother in law and I sewed two crib quilts in a weekend. Here is one of the quilts we made and I just adore. It is made out of flannel.

That was a couple of months ago. I haven't touched my machine since. I love to sew, but sometimes I just have to have the right excitement to sew again. I was online looking for ideas for things that I could make Allison for Thanksgiving. I saw an idea for a tiered skirt. I said, I can make that without a pattern! So off I went, to my closet, looking for scraps. I was so excited when I found the scraps from this quilt! I had plenty to make her a longer type skirt and it was flannel, so that would be perfect for fall and winter church days! Now I need to find her some brown boots at the thrift store! Here is the skirt:

These flowers are from Stampin' Up. They are felt flowers and I added a fun button in the middle!

So, you would think that I would be tired and done, but no! I found some other cute chicken fabric from a quilt I made a long, long time ago! Allison loves our "chichens", so I had to make her this one too!

So, then you would think that I would be tired and done....nope! I found some felt that I was going to use to make her some play food. Here is her breakfast that she woke up to this morning....

I had so much fun making the felt food. I have plans to make doughnuts and cookies and even fruit! I will post when I keep making. I will also post pictures with Allison in the skirts when I get the chance! Hope you have enjoyed these things as much as I have. Happy crafting!
